Welcome to your Guide for Getting Practivated!

1. Explore Practice Scenarios

Think of Practice Scenarios as your training ground—a safe, low-pressure space to try out real-life donor conversations.

  • Browse or Search: On the Practice Scenarios page, scroll through scenario cards or use filters (e.g., avatar type, relationship phase, skill indicators) to focus on what matters most to you.

  • Read the Card: Each card includes:

    • Title & Brief – what the conversation is about

    • Goal – the intended outcome (e.g., secure a follow-up meeting)

    • Duration – typical time needed (5–15 minutes)

  • Choose Difficulty: Use the Session Level slider (Easy → Hard) to match your comfort level. Start easy, then challenge yourself as your skills grow.

  • Start & Practice: Click Start Session to begin. A donor avatar appears and your conversation starts—experiment freely, this is your safe space.

  • Pin Favorites: Use the pin icon to keep go-to scenarios at the top of your list for quick access.

2. Build Early Wins

If you’re new, start with a few beginner-friendly scenarios to ease in:

  • Cold Call: Practice breaking the ice in a quick outreach.

  • Pivoting from Friendly to Fundraising: Shift a casual conversation toward meaningful support.

  • Introductory Meeting: Practice rapport-building and introducing your cause.

From there, you can try more advanced scenarios like reconnecting with past donors or engaging alumni around events and milestones.

3. Get Feedback from Coach Tivy After Each Session

After every session, Tivy, your AI coach, provides immediate feedback.
You’ll see what went well and get suggestions for improvement—like refining your ask, practicing active listening, or keeping your conversations goal-focused.

You can even jump right into a conversation conversation with Tivy to understand more about your feedback, including help identifying your strengths and areas for growth. Click the blue 'Talk With Tivy' button to get more personalized feedback.

4. Track Your Progress

Your Progress Tracker shows how far you’ve come:

  • Sessions completed

  • Goals achieved

  • Difficulty levels tackled

  • Skills developed

This visual feedback helps you celebrate growth and stay motivated.

5. Pro Tips for Success

  • Start Easy, Then Level Up: Build confidence step by step.

  • Stay Goal-Oriented: Use each scenario’s Goal as your compass.

  • Turn Feedback into Growth: Apply Tivy’s insights in your next session.

  • Stay Organized: Pin your top scenarios and use filters for quick access.

  • Celebrate Every Win: Confidence builds over time—take it one session at a time.
